Some of the finest talent among District 303 students took center stage at ArtFusion, the newest fundraising endeavor of The Greater St. Charles Education Foundation. The first annual ArtFusion, a district-wide celebration of the arts, was held on March 24, 2010 at the Arcada Theater in downtown St. Charles.
"ArtFusion is an opportunity for the Foundation to shine the spotlight on the artistic and academic achievements of students while also raising money to benefit the district's students," said Nadia BlancDaley, President of the Foundation.
Student artwork filled the lobby of the Arcada Theater. On display were paintings, sketches, ceramics, and woodcarvings. Several unique artistic presentations featured sculptures and models that demonstrated the link between math, science, and art. On stage, dancers, instrumental and vocal musicians, actors and actresses performed. Ron Onesti, Arcada Theater owner and Foundation supporter, donated the use of the theater for the event.
The Foundation plans to sponsor the second annual ArtFusion during the 2010-2011 school term. The date(s) and time for this event have not yet been scheduled. Please email us if you would like more information or wish to participate in the next ArtFusion.
